Biotechnology is one of the most recent multidisciplinary branches. There are several thousands of applications of the branch. It is one of such subjects that command over any branch of science and technology.

The Department of Biotechnology is started recently that deals with the modern trends in all sciences. The department made a modest beginning in the year 2005 with 32 students admitted for the B.Sc. Biotechnology course. The Biotechnology department currently shares the premises of the Botany department. The department will shift its base to more spacious premises coming up near the academic complex and DES Law College building to accommodate the specialized equipment and the large influx of students. New Building will have following infrastructure, like classrooms, Laboratories, Library, Staff room, administrative Office.

The new complex has two classrooms and a conference hall for the Biotechnology Department which will be well equipped with all presentation facilities like, over head projector, slide projector, LCD/DLP, interactive white board etc.
