1. Post Graduate Center in Economics
The Economics department is one of the oldest departments in the college. The post graduate centre was started in 1 971 . The centre has an intake capacity of 60 and admissions are made on the basis of merit. The prospectus and admission forms are available in the college office after the B. A. results. The department notifies the optional courses to be taught from time to time.The post graduate centre is likely to be recognized as an M.Phil teaching and Ph.D. research centre, in the near future.
2. Post Graduate Center in English
The Post Graduate Department of English was inaugarated in the Fergusson College in 1969. The results of the M.A. part I and Part II have been consistently satisfactory. Students seeking admission to M.A. English (Entire) have to appear for an entrance examination, which is normally held in the second half of July, every year. Application forms for the entrance examination are available with the department. There are sixty seats for M.A. Part I course, for which the students who have passed B.A. (English Special) are admitted. There are about ten seats available in the Fergusson College hostel for M.A. English students on the basis of merit. There are a number of curricular activities conducted by the Englsih Association for the benefit of the students.
3. Post graduate center in Marathi
Marathi subject is taught at general and special level at UG level. Students can learn Marathi either in Traditional Marathi literature or business / office communication. Students can use the knowledge of the subject for different media: print, Journalism, Radio or TV media.M.A. Marathi is a grantable PG course in Arts. Students offering any subject at BA can apply for MA Marathi.
4. Post graduate center in Psychology
Post Graduation (MA) in Psychology course started in the academic year 2006-07. Students offering Psychology special at BA degree can apply for the course. Students can opt for Industrial psychology or Educational psychology. For furhter details of the programs please refer to departmental website.
