As I have promised I intend to pen down some of my thoughts on the
topic which I
believe should be of your interest namely ‘Managing Career’.
Let’s therefore first look
at the meaning of the word ‘Career’
A career generally refers to one’s vocation, profession or way
of earning. However,
the definition of the word ‘career’ must be broad enough
to include considerations of
progress, achievement and status along with a sense of fulfillment.
A careerist always
tries to give his top performance and tries to overcome the competition
in his line of
work. A good standard of living & recognition are the fruits of
his efforts.
You may be wondering that instead of telling you how to decide upon
the best career
to be in why I am talking about managing a career.
The reason is simple. If you can manage your career systematically
the decision that
you will eventually take about your career will obviously be the best.
But before
I say anything further let us understand some general facts.
If we look around in the society to gauge the career achievements
of people, we find that
there are different groups of people.
People who are successful both academically and professionally and
are achievers
of the highest order.
