For simplicity, College functions are clearly divided in to two separate sections: academic and administrative. Academic section deals with academic aspect i.e. courses, departments, faculty members, R & D and placement activities of the college. A list of courses student can opt in Arts and Science stream right from Std. XI ( part of Junior College) to BA/BSc or MA/MSc or M.Phil./ Ph.D. (a part of Senior College) is included under Courses page.  To complete any Course from either Junior or Senior college, students are required to take specified number of subjects in a specified order. Details are provided in the Courses page.

 Students may offer different subject combinations in any given course. Departments represent basic units of a college and usually deal with one or more related subjects. Some Departments offer courses other than University degree courses - like add on courses, certificate or diploma or degree courses, which are either part time or full time courses of their own i.e. autonomous courses. These details are available on Department pages.

Details of the academic schedule like timetable, test, tutorials, assignments, internal as well as external examinations can be obtained from Academic Calendar pages. Academic achievements of the students resulted from various examinations can be obtained from Results pages. Research activity is an integral part of the academic activity and also enables faculty member to actively interact with industry.  Fergusson College has setup adequate infrastructure to promote research culture and train students so that they can get post in R & D sections in Industry and Research Institutes. Postgraduate students are encouraged to participate in this activity. R & D activity page will highlight these aspects in more detailed fashion.

 Training and Placement is an important aspect of the academics. Placement assistance is provided to the students during their course of study.  Fergusson College students are placed in reputed national and international organizations, institutes and industries.
